Being a Brit, I grew up with Action Man rather than G.I. Joe. In fact, the first time I actually heard of G.I. Joe was on holiday in America in 1982. I always saw Action Man as someone who had trained in the military, probably with the SAS, and had left to pursue a career as an adventurer and explorer. This fits in nicely with the 90's relaunch of the character.

I wanted a figure that reflected this. I liked the one Hasbro produced, but I felt that the neon orange shirt was going back to the bad old days of figure colours from the early 90's
