Hot Rod got his start, working in southern California, at his uncle's illegal chop shop. His formative years were spent stealing cars and souping-up engines. By his early 20's he had his own business, designing horrendously-overpriced, custom rides for pretentious rock stars and "wannabe" Hollywood types, with more money, than common sense or good taste. Despite losing his thumb in an unfortunate accident, he maintained his garage, and grew a highly-regarded reputation as an automotive "artist". Burnout and Thrasher (both fans of his work) met him at a car show several years ago, and he's been on Zartan's payroll ever since.
