Heads: Regular and Python Patrol Crimson Guards
Bodies: Mostly VvV Crimson Guards
Do not mistake these officers for Crimson Guards: they are not. They are the veterans, the first people who joined when the man who became Cobra Commander created his organization. They are the soldiers who are most experienced in battle and who has climbed the ranks to the top, yet who is not special enough to take any own identities like major Bludd or the Baroness.
The Cobra Brass Officers are Cobra's answer to Pentagon's top people, and since Cobra is spread all over the world, it requires commanding Officers to be stationed within every Division/Cell. To be recognized for their ranks, they have earned the right to wear flashier uniforms - the reason why they look similar to the Crimson Guard outfit is because it is the basic design for Officers within Cobra, only the color tells them apart. Their ranks are recognized as following:
Bronze trim: Major. (Battlefield Commander)
Silver trim: Colonel. (Division/Cell Commander)
Gold trim: General. (Traveling Commander-in-chief - sits in Cobra High Command)
The Major works out in the field and therefore carries his own telecommunications gear to be in direct contact with his Headquarters where the Colonel sits in the war-room and command his legions/division. The Generals travels from cell to cell to inspect the facility and collect delicate situation reports, or to take charge if necessary. The Generals answer only to Cobra Commander, Baroness or Destro.
Be warned of the Cobra Brass Officers. They have the experience to counter every move G.I. Joe could try to make, and they know exactly where to look to find the weak-spots in an advancing attack unit. They are after all veterans of war.
Personal Comments:
This group of figures started out just because I was fooling around with colors. Since I am not so fond of the new versions of Crimson Guards because of their oversized helmets and different arm designs, I took one and repainted it for the fun of it just to see how a Crimson Guard would look like in Cobra blue.
It turned out that I liked it, and since I got some original heads from Siegie's left over after rebuilding my version of Agent Faces in his C.G. disguise, (I've replaced his arms to match the original versions) and building my Wade Collins. I did the three of these. Naturally Cobra has officers of every rank, and I think this is a good way to tell them apart.
