Footpegs: Miscellaneous 25th Cobra Figure Stands

All my favorite vehicles have tons of footpegs all over them to cram more figures on board. Even small vehicles like the Devilfish or the Armadillo. Even the Polar Battle Bear could carry 3 people.

I always wanted the V.A.M.P. to be able to carry people on the back deck. As a kid I used to shove a figure in the gas can rack to man the Laser Cannon. I thought of using the back bumper from the Cobra Stinger, but it's not out yet and I don't want to buy a vintage one just to tear apart, especially since the molds have been re-tooled; I have no idea if it will even work.

One day I got the idea to just add some footpegs. I've found Its a lot easier to cut the pegs off of Cobra stands because they're so flat.

I then just sanded them down and crazy-glued them to the inner front corner of the two access panels. The figures don't look all that graceful on there, but it's just as believable as someone being able to stand on the back of a moving H.I.S.S. with no railing or hand holds.

Speaking of handholds; I cut up some Duke/Copperhead M-16/M203's with the intent to glue the carrying handles on either side of the top of the laser cannon, but they were so small and narrow I gave up on it. Didn't want to risk getting glue all over the cannon.

There was an early issue of the comic where the Joes were fighting the October Guard in Iran or Afghanistan. I remember there were 3 or 4 of them on the back of the V.A.M.P. shooting at the border patrol. I think it was Breaker, Flash and Steeler. I think thats why I've had the urge to do this lurking in the back of my head all these years.

Well, that and being able to put Threepio and Artoo on the back of the Kenner Landspeeder. I always thought that was really cool.
