The A.W.E Striker was one of my favorite toys as a child. I loved the fact that it looked fast and had working steering and suspension. Later on in life I realized that the A.W.E. Striker was actually based on a real life vehicle used by U.S. Special Forces called the Fast Attack Vehicle. The real one had none of short comings of the Hasbro version. It had multiple weapon systems, not a one shot TOW based weapon. The real vehicle also had a place for a gunner, something that would be necessary if I was going to make a version with several weapons. Sometime later in my military career I met some Soldiers that were attached to a unit that operated with H.M.M.W.V.s, they were designated as a "hunter-killer" unit. These Soldiers used the faster and more nimble Hummers with TOW weapon systems to take out tanks through ambush and retreat tactics. This was a perfect fit for what I wanted in the Striker II. I believe I fixed the flaws of the original A.W.E. Striker with my custom Striker II.
