Despite the fact that she is the daughter of the Cobra scientist Professor Appel, Candy befriends G.I.Joe HALO trooper Rip Cord. She is a tough and independent girl, but suffers the tragic fate of being in the receiving end of Scrap Iron's missiles. This ultimately leads to Rip Cord going on a one man assault on Cobra Island.
