Shotgun Sally was intended to be one half of the Shotgun Charlie/Shotgun Sally duo I'd whipped up 3 years ago; the idea goes back almost 5. Like Charlie she'd have been a member of my now defunct Vanguard universe. Here's her basic bio:

Real name: Powers, Sally
Birthplace: Andersen, Washington

Sally Powers grew up in Andersen, Washington, along with her best friend (and future husband) Charlie Caldwell, son of the local sheriff. As much a tomboy as a lady, Sally wore dresses and jeans with equal ease, and found as much fun in exploring the woods and caves around Andersen as she did in playing with dolls.

After high school and the start of a brief romance with her best friend, Sally joined the Navy and trained as an investigator with NCIS while taking college courses in law enforcement and investigations on the side. Following the end of her enlistment she joined the FBI. By the time she received word that Charlie Caldwell's father had died back in Andersen, she was already thoroughly fed-up with the job and the "old boy" attitude she so often ran up against, and it was a cinch to stay in her old hometown, where she married Charlie and came to serve as one of his deputies.

It was an attack by a Netherworld-based guard dog on Sally's patrol cruiser that finally led Charlie to contact Vanguard, and led to the couple meeting the team, and a year later, joining them.
