Red-Tide took his name from the bacterial algae that kills anything it contacts. He also cuts the tips of his crossbow darts with the toxic algae. It is rumored that Red-Tide trained with the same Arashikage ninja clan that raised Storm Shadow and Snake-eyes. An ex-coast guard rescue diver, Red-Tide was trained to survive in the most extreme aquatic environments. Red-Tide doesn't consider himself a ninja, he is just an assassin who has ninja training and can attack from anywhere. He had taken out a target that was five miles out to sea, he swam the entire way to the target's vessel and swam back.
