James McCullen is the head of the giant weapon manufacturer MARS, a firm founded by his family centuries ago.

A real gentleman, he is also a true lord of war. Known under the alias of Destro, he's under surveillance by several intelligence services all around the world. But his high-end connections in many governments protect him quite effectively.

As the Laird of the McCullen Clan, he also rules a small army of highly trained troopers called the Iron Grenadiers. The IG are expert in guerrilla and urban warfare. they are used by MARS as sales representatives as well as field instructors for its customers.
At all time, two of the best Iron Grenadiers, trained in security, serve as his bodyguard. He never leaves Castle Destro without them, especially not when he has got an appointment with a short-tempered customer like Cobra Commander.
