As the first Native American GI Joe, I wanted to make sure Spirit was represented as accurately and respectfully as possible. Since it's 2009, none of the Indian stereotypical looks are necessary, so I just gave him a single braid in the back for his pulled back hair.
He is also decked out in all camouflage, since he needs to blend in.
The challenge I had was finding a green paint which matched the pants, which I did not. My version of Spirit is also a Code-Talker. He translates coded military orders in his native Taos Pueblo Tiwa language.
