By 1988, I was largely done with Joes because of their generally gaudy color schemes, silly specialties and ridiculous weapons. But my younger brother had a few in his collection that made me rethink that position. Muskrat was one of them.

In updating the character, I wanted to preserve the integrity of the original design while making some creative choices that, I hope, help to set this new version apart.
