Black Dragon grew up on the tough streets of Springfield. He used to run in a gang that would resist and fight against Cobra. Black Dragon left Springfield and met the Blind Master in San Francisco. The Blind Master could see the conflict in Black Dragon and trained him as an Arishikage ninja. Snake Eyes helped recruit Black Dragon to the G.I. Joe team.

In my ROC storyline he is working with Snake Eyes, Jinx and Kamakura to take out the Red Fang Ninjas.
