25th Anniversary Sgt Airborne complete except lower legs.
Lower legs- Cobra Bazooka Trooper
Gun- Marauder M4 Carbine
Rappelling rope- craft cord
I have always liked the character of Sgt. Airborne, but wanted a more realistic looking soldier. The engineer boots were the first to go, they were ugly and clunky looking. I replaced the lower legs with the legs from a Cobra Bazooka trooper. I switched the knees from the Cobra soldier with those that came originally on Sgt. Airborne. I repainted the entire figure with a desert camo pattern to give him a more realistic military look and to pay tribute to the fact that he is from the desert environments, Arizona. To break up some of the desert camo pattern, I repainted the vest and bed roll in woodland camo pattern. The one thing that I created was a custom sling for the M4 rifle. I used a strap from another figure's web gear and trimmed the ends into thin strips. Once they were thin enough, i slipped them through two areas of the rifle and crazy glued them together. My friend took the photos for me, and even set up the rappelling shot from a PTE helicopter.
