Like just about everybody else, I wanted to know why H decided not to do a 25th style Zandar and Zarana, so like just about everybody else, I made my own. This was my first real endeavor into making a 25th figure by doing something more than just a simple head swap.
PoC Zartan is one of those figures with so much custom potential, so I decided to make Zartan into his brother, Zandar, as the bare chest was perfect. I more or less used the one and only Zandar figure for inspiration. Zandar has the shoulder rig, so I took the harness off of a RoC Ice Viper from my fodder bin and cut it to fit. The leftover pieces from the harness were used to make his head band and a shoulder holster for my Zarana custom. Since I had an extra PoC Clutch, I used his holster and knife by Gorilla Gluing them in place.
Since this version of Zartan is bald, I had to add some hair by using Green Stuff and part of the Ice Viper harness for the headband, making sure some of the hair hung over the top of the head band like the original figure.
After looking at the original figure, I couldn't understand how his shoulder armor stayed in place, so rather than use the arms from a Zartan figure for the armor, I simply painted the elbow wrappings blue. As far as the other paint applications, I worked around the Zartan face tattoos by adding some colour. I didn't want to try to paint them over because I'd never be able to match the "sun tanned" look of the original paint. I also added my own pizazz to the chest markings to cover the four circle tattoos of the Zartan figure. The pants were a great match to the original, so I really had to paint was the knee pads and boots. I ran out of Green Stuff so I painted the strap for his thigh knife. I took some pictures of the figure and tried to add pupils via photo editing software, and it just did not look right so I left them the same blank white like Zartan.
I don't know why, but for some reason, Zandar always seemed like a silent weapons type to my, so I gave him the uber-cool compound bow and arrow set from PoC Spirit.
