Character:

In the Devil's Due continuity, Wilder Vaughn- not Baron Ironblood, was the founder/leader of the Red Shadows. Years ago, before deciding to punish myself by reading The Rise of the Red Shadows, I speculated that Wilder Vaughn would be revealed as an older version of the Black Major.

But he wasn't. Brandon Jerwa basically swiped the Red Shadows team name to build his own story around it. There was no Baron Ironblood or any other Palitoy characters to be found anywhere. Although I like Jerwa's writing, this was disrespectful to the source material, in my opinion.

Design:

Wilder Vaughn wore a long coat in most of his appearances. In his final man-to-man fight w Duke, the long coat was gone, revealing a short sleeve shirt. This custom is loosely inspired by that look and isn't accurate to the comic book design.

Colors & Paint:

Based on the classic red uniform w black accoutrements of the Palitoy Red Shadows figures, plus some darker reds of the Devil's Due comic book.

Sculpting & Modifying:

The head is an Indiana Jones scalp replacing the knit cap of the Shipwreck head. But the scalp/forehead were re-sculpted anyway. Epoxy fills and smooths the shoulder/elbow/thigh screw insets. The hands were cut off and repositioned to better hold the rifle.
