I have always like the idea of the Crimson Guard this stems back to the comic description of them not the toy that Hasbro put out. So when I was I kid I couldn't wait to get Headman so I could throw another head on him and make him a CG living in my neighborhood. Now 12 years later I finally got around to it.
I like Fred II because you find out he's Wade Collins in the future. For me he's a tragic character that really helped me get into the story when I was a kid. It seemed liked there were a ton of micro-stories in the old Marvel Joe run and all of those micro stories twist and turned and connected in some way. The Wade arcs really put all in perspective for me. I know quite a few vets from that particular "conflict" and I feel like I can relate to old Wade and see why he'd join Cobra.
I totally screwed up a nice tight pin stripe ,so this is my second attempt I decided to make them a bit bigger to make things easy. I thought the pants looked too busy with stripes so I left them plain. I did the neck ball transfer so that the details for the tie would be there. It turns out there is no tie it's a stud. Oh well...
Often times you see Joe show up and whoop the crap out of Cobra, this issue always stood out to me because Cobra kept their secret. So in a way they accomplished their mission. As a kid I always saw that as Cobra fighting to a draw.
I had painted up a custom Cobra Officer but the GF said it didn't match the other comic Officer I had laying on my desk. So I went with my modded head and a comic pack officer body. Easy but effective. Mathew hooked me up with the J&R helmet and I dyed it to match my original custom, so I had to try and lighten it with paint to mach the comic pack Cobra Officer color.
