AquatBAT
Primary function: Deep-sea reconnaissance
Alternate function: Underwater demolition

The AquaBAT was designed as a deep sea spy. Get close to your target and drop that sucker over board. Designed to withstand intense pressure that most humans would stand a chance in, the AquaBAT will just walk along the bottom until it gets close enough to get the intel needed. Once on target, it is equipped to do a number of tasks:

1. Photograph - one of the available attachments for the arm is a deep sea, low light camera/lamp. Pictures are uploaded to the BAT memory system where they can be stored, or transferred to a memory storage device within the radio buoy
2. Infiltrate - The standard BAT claw attachment required little modification to get it to function under water, where it is well suited for breaching the bottom of a ship's hull
3. Transmit - Once the BAT has acquired it's mission intel, it inflates the buoy from the tank on it's chest, either to drag the entire unit to the surface, or to deploy to the surface on it's own, where it is equipped with a high powered ULF transmitter, sending it's signal to headquarters
4. Detonate - should the AquaBAT malfunction or become unable to transmit, it is programmed to get as close as possible to the target and initiate it's self destruct sequence, as it is packed with enough concentrated C4 to breach the hull of most US vessels.
5. Directed fire: AquaBAT also can fire two sonar guided torpedos from the fins on the shoulder

The AquaBAT is equipped for swimming, which it can do for short distances, using fins mounted on it's backpack and legs to steer, and propelled by propellers mounted on it's backpack. It is also capable of defending it's self against opposition with the arm mounted harpoon, a large spear and an even larger Trident harpoon. It can function and accomplish it's mission in perfect darkness.

Wet Suit says "Man... I ran into one of those AquaBATs once, on a mission off the Barrier Reef... It's almost surreal to see those things drifting toward you, their heads glowing all creepy like that. You better hope that's as close as it gets too, cause it WILL NOT stop if it spots you. Lucky for me, I'm The Man, and had no trouble taking it out. Anybody else though... say goodnight, you know what I mean?"

Face plate on the helmet is painted in glow in the dark paint, as are the diver's glow rods attached to the belt. I wanted to go a little bit over the top with this one, especially after I found that stupid rubber shark in my parts box. The torpedoes mount on 2 pieces of scrap plastic that I cut slots into the shoulders for, though they can't be worn at the same time as the backpack. I had fun coming up with the new arm attachments, and the propellers on the backpack were a last minute addition that I thought were a nice little touch - like so many of Cobra's inventions, this thing is completely out of the realms of fiction, but it's still makes for a fun toy.
