ARMADILLO became the first person in his family to graduate from college. He attended Arizona State on a ROTC scholarship where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Armadillo joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX. His engineering skills helped build a reputation for being the best mechanic on base. After his four years were up, Armadillo opted to serve four more years as an officer in the transportation corps. His skills as a mechanic and driver soon brought him to the attention of the GI Joe team. The Joes needed someone versed in the latest land assault technologies to drive and operate the Rolling Thunder. Armadillo was a shoe in for the job.
