When I first heard about the new GP, Next Generation, I instantly wanted to make dibs on Mainframe, since he's my favorite.

Thinking about a possible descendant, I realized the Mainframe character wouldn't really have much of relationships, so I had to choose between an adopted son, or just a Living Computer, and I decided to pick the latter, and ended up making an A.I. character.

For this custom, I wanted to do an Artificial Intelligence life form, that serves as the Joes' connection to their base of operations, whenever they are on missions.

Therefore, Babbage handles the G.I.Joe's main mainframe, connects all Joes with each other, and provides information as needed. Babbage is also a self-improving, self-upgrading system, as designed by Mainframe.

I think this one's fitting as a "Next Gen" replacement for Mainframe, and I hope you agree.

The figure's name Babbage comes from the name of the "father of computers", Charles Babbage. Other names I thought about using were R.A.M., R.A.D., Computo, Computron, Oracle, and Proxy.

I originally wanted to use a Joe figure as a base figure, but wanted a clean one, one which doesnt have any designs on it, to present a "blank" figure... but i didn't find any, so I decided to try using figures from other lines - in this case, DC Infinite Heroes.

Considering the figure won't be needing any articulation since it will be placed permanently inside the case, I'm satisfied with the figure.

I wanted to use a glass case at first, but I wasn't able to find one in time, and I just decided to use a water bottle instead.

Originally the figure base was the water bottle's cap, until I got my hands on a Wall-E toy, primarily for use with my other G.I.Joe: The Next Generation custom, Sci-Fi. Instead of getting rid of other parts I didn't need, I ended up using the upper half of the Wall-E toy as this custom's base, which I'm really satisfied with.

Haven't still perfected the positioning of the LED lights, but I'm fine with it as it is, and I included several LED placement shots.
