Blackout is a world class soldier, billed as a "golden viper" by the cobra elite. His code name denotes his most frequent mission, the blacking out of government embarassments, usually those soldiers who end up working for the joe team. Blackout's primary training is in special forces, but he is also quite proficient with his sniper rifle. Oddly enough, Blackout initially showed no apparent talent above the ordinary for the rifle. When questioned about his new found technical precision, he relates that he feels he must defeat his treacherous brother Barrel Roll at his own game. His most recent clash with Barrel Roll has been over the fate of their sister, Bombstrike. After growing disenfranchised with the U.S. military, Bombstrike apparently fell in with the renegade joe team. Blackout has attempted to intervene by "kidnapping" his sister. However, she may be beyond saving as she quickly escaped and rejoined her brother in his mercenary ways.

"I really have nothing left in my heart for either of my siblings. I feel the only thing I can really do is to limit the damage they are able to do, even if that means taking them out completely."
