This project started and ended differently than I anticipated, and Captain Grid-Iron was the reason. I had planned on going hyper detailed like Chad, but I started with a different approach than he did. Instead of painting the highlights on top of the low lights, I started painting black on top of fully painted base coats.

I loathed the results. It was also so counter intuative to paint on top of clean customs. So Chad and I decided to go different routes. The different card backs also helped differentiate our directions.
