Crystal Ball so impressed Cobra Commander with his predictions of the future that he was recruited into the top hierarchy of Cobra. The problems began when all of Crystal Ball's predictions began to prove very untrue. He wore his decorative costume and kept the Commander entertained with card tricks, till, Fox network ran there "Behind the Scenes: Card Magic", effectively ruining the last worthwhile reason to keep Crystal Ball around.

The Commander gave Crystal Ball two choices, one: public Execution, or Two: take charge of the worst brigade in the Cobra Legion. Crystal Ball, an extreme coward, picked the choice only slightly less terrifying than the other. He chose public execution. The Commander laughed at the one time fortune teller and put him in charge of the Brain-dead Brigade, and sent on a suicide mission to retrieve an experimental weapon system in the country of France. Crystal Ball outfitted himself with as much equipment he could and took charge of his unit, the now renamed "Ball Busters". Not only did the unit survive, it succeeded in its mission with a lower casualty rate than the average Cobra venture.

Crystal Ball seemed the most fearless man on the field, his men said it was because of his ability to predict the future, others thought he had just gone crazy and was hanging on by a thread. Whatever the reason, Crystal Ball and the Ball Busters have become a force to be reckoned with. Whenever a Joe hears the Battle Cry "Balls to the Wall!!!", they know they are in for a fight.

Most recently, Crystal Ball has even been ranked 2nd most Popular Field Commander in the Cobra Legions by the readers of "Adder Times". Losing only to Major Bludd and beating out long time favorite Copperhead. Not Surprisingly, Cesspool was ranked last at number 15.
