Dart was born the son a nobleman in one of the outer conquered cities of the Aztec empire. As was often the case he entered into the service of his city's army. There he was trained for "flower wars" where the goal was not to kill your enemy or take over their land or riches but to capture as many prisoners as possible. These prisoners would than be sacrificed to the gods. Using his bow and arrows or stone studded wood sword he would dart into the enemy's strongest warriors and knock out there legs or crack their heads taking many prisoners. With his successes as a warrior came gifts, from gold trinkets to a crown of feathers designating him as one of the elite Eagle Warriors, bestowed upon him by Montezuma II himself.
By the time of the Spanish arrival, Dart had become the Aztecs most revered warrior. He raised concerns about the Spanish but his warnings were dismissed. Keeping his eye on Cortes and his Lieutenant Abutre Negro, Dart was able to intervene and contain several early conflicts. Even when Cortes finally decided to take Tenochtitlan by reinforcing his troops with all of the neighboring enemies of the Aztecs, Dart and his fellow warriors were able to fend them off. If it wasn't for Cortes last push and his eventual killing of Montezuma II history might be very different. Abutre Negro followed suit by killing Dart but the hope of the Aztecs was dead the moment their leader went down.
Dart is an example of one of those customs I'm not fully behind until everything is modified and painted. He doesn't look right without all of his gear on. The best part about making him was getting to use all those bright colors.
