All of this merely got his file pulled into the right pile.

What earned his spot on the Special Weapons Force was his remote control airplane hobby. The scale of R/C aircraft forces designers to think smaller and lighter. As a rocket scientist, that line of thinking has enabled Guidance to create faster missiles. However, the size dictates a small payload. Too small for a thermonuclear missile, but perfect for a first strike counter measure.

Her Majesty's Mini Missile 1, aka the Hail Mary, is an all-weather, super sonic, multi-lock on, short to medium range, 3 stage, man portable, interceptor missile. Should a nuke make it through all other lines of defense, a single person can set up and launch the Hail Mary to intercept and destroy the inbound threat. It has also been used to take out low orbit satellites and enemy aircraft.
