When the Lunartix Empire attacked Earth, the GI Joe Research and Development guys were field testing a new robotic assistant. The multi-mission capable quadruped is rated for all terrain and all weather. Unlike Boston Dynamics' Mule project, however, that rating comes from NASA, as well as, DARPA. It uses the new Apple LionHunter combat operating system and while it was factory loaded with 3D facial imaging software, the Joes opted for an 8 bit pixelated version that isn't as "creepy". Tesla Motors provided the solar powered 375 volt air-cooled electric motor making it run completely silent in the field. The aerodynamic body is made from a patented bullet proof composite alloy. It comes equipped with a retractable bionic arm with grasping claw that can serve as a stabilizing leg. The facial display also serves as a tactical viewing screen, user interface, and communications center with a full array of recording/analyzing digital devices. The folding legs and bendable neck allow for tight quarter stowage and enhanced balance. While only weighing in at a mere 250 pounds, it can carry up to 500 pounds worth of ammo or gear. The iBot gives the Joes options to do their jobs better.

Never throw away an unused idea. The original design for this robot began its life 15 years ago as part of a Starship Troopers squad of star trekking researchers in the Star Wars universe. Yes, I know, not a great concept, but I put a lot of thought into how an Artoo type robot would need to function for this group. What features it would need to have and what would set it apart form other sci fi robots.
