Before eventually choosing his more cybernetic enhanced form, Overkill ordered Hot Wire to create a design that more closely aligned with the BATs he was commanding. Hot Wire used a nickle plated vibranium to not only make Overkill stand out as a leader but also to make the armor harder to pierce. Overkill was so pleased with the work that when he decided to go in a different direction he deleted all of Hot Wire's files so it could never be used again.

I am used to being able to hide my imperfections with quality work in other areas like parts choices and sculpting. So when I'm stripped of that and have to show the most basic of skills like painting, I over think things...a lot. This custom took forever. I kept starting over. I wanted it to be perfect. If there wasn't a deadline I'd still be painting it. In fact, that silver paint on his feet was still wet when I took these pictures. As I was taking them I decided his lower legs needed silver like the BAT boots behind him and to also break up all the gold. It is weird that such a straight forward project became one of the most difficult for me.
