With our every increasing, little discussed universe, Shang-Tsung is a character (along with the other Mortal Kombat figures) that has found his way into our realm. He is very connected to Cobra-La as well as Dr. Mindbender and Crystal Ball. There never was a great figure of Shang-Tsung, even though on the figure, the headsculpt was well done. Later in the games, of course, we find Shang-Tsung much younger, and I wanted to portray that here. I kept the original hair but added additional sculpt to cover the top of his head. I also used the Movie Edition toros/waist combination as a nod to that figure as well. The legs and the arms were the hardest, and at first I had bare arms on the figure; these just did not work with the rest of the sculpt. The Dragon Han arms were a last minute change that worked quite nicely. The legs, I know, are an odd choice. The original Movie Edition legs were really skinny, and nothing else I found worked well with Shang-Tsung's designs. I thought that the detailing on the legs, as well as the bulk, helped balance the figure and finish out the look.
