Slugger grew up the son of a rabid baseball fan. He inherited this love and spent his youth following and playing the game. A promising Little League and High School player Slugger got a spot on a a college team, but found that he was unable to balance sports and school. After flunking several courses he lost his scholarship and found himself unable to play. The harsh realization that staking one's fortune on sport was riskier than he'd realized led him to reevaluate things. He joined the military both to find structure and to pay down his debt and found an environment he could thrive in.

The Joe team considers Slugger a multi-role player. Adept in many disciplines, the team knows he can be slotted into pretty much any spot and succeed. He's a little too reliant on his bat in close quarters, but it's hard to argue with it's effectiveness. Just don't put him and Hardball together, it's like magnets with those two, like repels like. They're just too similar.

Slugger was the first figure I made for this GP. He just stood out while I was researching Remco's offerings, and had a very "Hasbro" feel to him. Plus, opportunities to use up the baseball bats in my fodder are definitely welcome. This figure is the first time I've used waterslide decals in probably 20+ years, and I'm glad I took the plunge. They're a pain, but they open up a ton of options.
