Roberto Flask was the son of a Columbian immigrant who worked as a buyer in the sugar industry. He grew up flying from Florida to Cuba to Columbia to Brazil to South Africa and back. He spoke Spanish, French, and Portuguese just as fluently as he spoke English. Despite his affluence, he was drafted into the Korean War and served in the US Army Intelligence Corp.
Emberto Kane was heavily recruited out of Army Intelligence by the CIA during the "Pink Tide" in South America. He was sent to counter-espionage training where the Shepard himself oversaw his training and groomed him.
After the Cuban Missile Crisis, Manny Caras was recruited by the likes of Interpol, SHIELD, UNCLE, ZOWIE, and CONTROL. He'd earned quite the reputation for infiltrating organizations and providing accurate intel. Maj. Colton (US Army Reserves) came knocking with nothing but a promise, 100% transparency within the organization and only taking on missions that would actually make a difference. The world was becoming a much more dangerous place and a person who knew all the tricks of the trade would be needed for its survival.
