Upon graduating Norfolk State University, Jerome Smith took his engineering degree and joined the Navy. I actuality his options were wither join a branch of the service or jail. So Jerome decided on the Navy. He was assigned the naval ship yards in Norfolk. There he was able to at least put his degree to use. However, unable to stay out of trouble, he found himself once more locked up after a drunken brawl with a sailor from one of the aircraft carriers recently in for some upgrades. By the time they were both bailed out, he and the sailor, Hector Delgado, had became friends. The charges were dropped and they parted ways. Several years later Smith had worked his way up to advanced degree weapons engineering where he had earned the nickname "Sure Fire". Once more he crossed paths with Delgado, who was now going by the name "Shipwreck". Sure Fire had been designing weapons for a new aircraft carrier called the USS Flagg. Seeing his potential, Shipwreck suggested to Admiral Keel Haul he recommend Sure Fire to General Hawk for appointment to the GI Joe Team.
For this custom I wanted to create Bronze Bomber figures as if they had been built by Hasbro. I tried to use as many ARAH parts as possible in order to make it feel as if it was part of an actual GI Joe Product line. I used Testor's Model Masters Acrylics and tried to keep the paint scheme as close to the original as possible. The parts that were selected were chosen also because they closely resembled the parts of the original knock off figure.
