Vehicle Name: Trident
Role(s): SDV - Seal Delivery Vehicle
UCAV - Unmanned Combat Assault Vehicle
Mine Sweeper

The Trident was borne out of the continual upgrades made to the SDV (Seal Delivery Vehicle) types. It was primarily designed to facilitate the transport of team operators during Special Warfare missions. During initial testing, the designers quickly realized that they could also utilize the vehicle as a UCAV similar to a Predator or Global Hawk drone.

Besides its use as a transport, it provides the Navy and its operators with an option of unmanned assault and mine sweeping capability. As a UCAV, the Trident can be placed in harm's way to directly attack an enemy vessel or sweep a submerged minefield without putting lives at risk.

Also, while on Special Warfare missions, the Trident is designed to be as stealthy as possible. Normally, the propellers of a vessel create a cavitation effect which can alert enemies to the location, size and speed of a vessel. The Trident has a new water jet propulsion system that allows the vessel to run undetected when it needs to.

As for its moniker, the Trident's name is a tribute to the Trident pin awarded to operators who successfully complete the 15-week SQT (Seal Qualification Training).

I had made this vehicle to be used in tandem with a much larger vessel. Wasn't able to get the vessel properly completed because of the base I used but I still wanted to submit this at least.

Inspiration from this came from watching the Military channel. I was watching a special on SEALs. It profiled the retired operators who have gone on to improve the SDV craft which the current operators use. The newer SDVs are much more advanced to what they initially utilized. I also happened to read an article talking about how the Navy is looking into UCAV drones to launch off flight decks. I figured that they would eventually have a submersible one as well. I think that Wet-Suit and Torpedo are going to put it to good use in thwarting Cobra.
