I started out with a "Leaping Hulk" super posable figure. First
the feet were extremely huge so I had to dremel about half of the foot off,
and then squared off the head. Next I added epoxy putty to the feet to shape
the boots and leg strap, moved to the leather cup and finally the flat top.
After everything had set I had some dremeling to do like adding the metal plates
to the boots and making the flat top look normal.
Making the gear was the time consuming part due only to the fact that I did
not know what to make it with. Fortunately I was at EB Games and saw a couple
large scale action figs. I picked up a spawn fig for the shoulder pads, a Road
Warrior fig for the bow. The shoulder pads came directly off the Spawn figure,
but I had to take off the half inch spikes. From Spawn's cape I cut the pieces
for the chest plates and back plates, I then drilled small hole and sewed it
all together.
Now along comes the cinder block, what to make it out of, then it hit why not
use wax, so long story short I melted down one of my wife's scented candles
and cast a square block. After cutting and drilling the square block of Rainforest
freshness I had a cinderblock, aqua colored, but a cinder block. Now time to
complete: it painting the cinder block, staining the handle, then painting everything
else. Finally we have arrived at a complete Road Pig in roughly 1:10 scale.
Overall I am pleased, even after sealing the fig the paint still came off a
little due to the really tight joints, and the nature of the articulation.
All accessories are removable and are true the version one Road Pig.
