The Falcon is a very special item to me because it was the very first Joe toy I ever had. My mom babysat for extra money when my siblings and I were growing up and the kid's mom gave it to me for Christmas in '83. The personal attachment to the Falcon is reason I have the Tan Grunt avatar!
So wherever you are, Mrs. Walls, I have you to thank for having GI Joe on the brain! Or maybe I have you to blame....hmmmmmmm.
The Falcon held up as well as could be expected. I never thought it flew as well as it should have but that was probably because of the cold, dry December air (I grew up in Massachusetts). But man, it was cool-looking and really fun to play with.
To me, the best thing about the toy was the imagination factor. It really got your creative juices flowing because it inspired the notion of non-mechanical flight. The very idea is adventure at its highest!
All in all, it was a great toy that brought lots of enjoyment. Acquiring a Falcon in good condition is definitely #1 on my "grail" list.
