So I'm giving my new CORPS "3-Man Recon" sets a good looking over at long last, and something in one of the Flying Force team members caught my eye. One of them has these two -- protrusions coming out of his shoulders. They're like holes to which something could be hooked on or attached. My theory is they were designed to attach a working parachute to the figure. What I'm wondering, and cannot recall, is if The Corps has ever done working parachutes for any of their figures, especially in recent years since their figure format overhaul.

Anyone know...?

Not sure what the exact brand was but I know I saw a hard plastic parachute with a big fan motor and a figure all in a set at Big Lots a couple months ago. It was the same line that the "chap mei" stuff Big Lots had was from. So that might be something similar if not the same thing. I actually considered picking up the set because the chute was really well done. In fact I looked at it a few times, each one considering the possibilities. If I had my Ripcord custom done at the time I would have shelled out the $7 or whatever it was for the chute alone.

I have noticed these also with the two pilot sculpt.
I follow and collect Corps pretty closely, and have never seen anything like a chute to attach to them.

It is indeed Chap mei. I have the set and it is cool.

No idea one that corps guy though, which one is it BTW. I wonder if this might relate to the Glider or some other vehicle.

It's certainly that same part of the body, although the colors and character are different, as is the helmet. Since you've indicated there's never been a parachute set for the Corps, I'll go with that. Maybe one was in the works and got scrapped for some reason and they went ahead with the figure.
