This happened with me at Target with the IG Destro wave. They wouldn't ring up and I figured they put them out before they were supposed to, but the cashier just asked me how much they were and typed it in. I didn't lie or anything...I told her the right price. I was fine with the situation. I would have been mad if I wasn't able to buy them.

The exact same thing happened to me, with the same wave. The Cashier called a supervisor over and asked her what to do. The supervisor told her "They're on the shelf, we have to sell them to him." She asked what they cost, and I told her that one of the ones that did ring up was the same price, so they typed that price in manually.

Yep...if they are on the shelf, they have to be sold. Next time..pitch a [LASER BLAST] and you'll get them.. I know it is petty, but it should not be a common thing to throw stuff out an not be able to sell it. Corporate would have a fit.

I worked at FYE one holiday season and with movies and music they were VERY strict about release dates. We'd sometimes get an album in 2 or 3 weeks before its street date and have to sit on it until then but usually it all came in a few days before it was supposed to go on sale. The other managers and I would have to swing by the Suncoast down the mall and see if they had anything put out early and if they did we were allowed (by the regional manager) to go ahead and sell it. Otherwise that stupid Tuesday street date was the law. If for some reason one of our idiot employees put something out early and someone picked it up we had to sell it though. We'd ask where they found it and go pull the rest before anyone else picked one up. That never happened while I was there though.

I totally would have pitched a fit until I got my way though. Its not my fault their employees can't read and put stuff out early. IF they want to go ahead and stock the shelves then they should cover the area with plastic or something with a sign so people won't think its available. But that would be too easy.

Actually it's a little different. When that happened at Target it just didn't register a price for the wave. With these it should give an error message something like do not sell until may 1. At least, that's what they did with star wars figures.
