Marketing geniuses.

At this points, even kids who want everything on screen will feel like they won't need another Cap so soon.

Let's not forget the parents saying "oh you(little Johnny) have this one already"

I am looking forward to Hydra soldiers at TJ Maxx etc etc

HTS has Wave 1 and Wave 2 up for preorder with a release date of 3/1/12

Wave 1 (only showing 11 figures but listed as a 12 pack)
1 Ultimate Thor
2 Hulk
2 no helmet Movie Thor
2 Movie Cap w/ mask
2 Mark VII Iron Man
1 Mark VI Iron Man
1 "Stealth" Iron Man

Wave 2
3 Iron Man
2 Ultimate Thor
2 Movie helmet Thor
3 Cap
2 Unmasked Cap

I'd imagine these are the case packs hitting now as there are reports of movie Hulk showing up.

I saw all of the new Marvel Legends 6 inch figures at a TRU today, not interested in them, especially for those insane prices.

All i want out of the 4 inch line is Thor, Black Widow and maybe Hawkeye, the rest is garbage and a waste of plastic IMHO. :-/

I am curious where this info comes from. Everything I've been seeing says somewhere between late February to early March as the release date.

It's funny that they remake the same characters in various sauces for the upcoming Avengers, but Ghost rider 2 comes out in two weeks and no figures.

yeah, Black Widow will get stymied again with this wave set-up. No way that wave one clears out in time for future ones. I mean, holy hell, has nobody with decision making authority walked a toy aisle in the past year? Iron Man 2 toys are still on the shelf in most stores here.

      pfffffft, with redundant character selections like these and idiotic casse assortments of a line full of repaints, this line is dead before Loki and Black Widow ever ship from China in a couple months.

Forgot that was coming out so soon...
Yeah, you'd think Marvel would have a toyline for Ghost Rider too. Perhaps the toys from the first movie (stupidly not in 1:18) didn't do well enough to justify another line.

Like I posted, the Asst Manager stated they were doing a reorg of the Super Hero Aisle and they would be putting out the new Avenger figures when they did it. Could he be full of S**t... possibly. I will not know until I go in on Sunday.

I continue to be impressed by Marvel Universe, and depressed by Marvel Movie figs. The sculpting is typically better, or at least more realistic on the movie line, but with awkward articulation, and poor assortments, it's just very frustrating.

It's easy to say woulda-coulda-shoulda, or to simply gripe about it, but - honestly - I don't pretend to know more about how to make any of the lines profitable. But if I were making a perfect world set-up for how I'd like to see them handle Marvel toys, it would have been centered on one primary 1:18 line, Marvel Universe, or whatever they want to call it. Then, use each new Marvel related movie to promote the MU line of toys. Have various waves of the MU line be movie-specific. There are plenty of cool figures out there to be able to keep things fresh, without resorting to climate controlled versions of Captain America, etc...

There is no need for the three primary Avenger characters to each be over-represented in MU, in their own respective movie lines, and in an Avengers line, often all on pegs simultaneously. Finally, we've wanted a standardized construction style from Hasbro as between their various 1:18 properties for some time. While I can appreciate that we'll never see Star Wars and Joes share the same base bucks, the idea that they can't even make it happen within a single property is frustrating.

There. I feel better now. lol. Hate to whine. I dig a lot of what they do. Honest.

Yeah it's frustrating. It's like there's some weird stipulation between their film license properties and the Marvel comics properties that they have to be built differently. Ideally, if they had the detail and bulk that movie figures had, but with the better articulation of the Marvel Universe line, that'd be great. Throw in the price of a 3 3/4" figure from oh, 8 years ago....and I might still be buying the line. Well that and the avengers cartoon on air again.
