Again, *all* KS All-Ins are expensive in the beginning. All-In packages are nice for the campaigners because they get big money raised in big chunks, while they're attractive to contributors because they become good deals over time as more people contribute. Complaining that it's not a good deal on Day Two of the campaign completely and utterly fails to understand the situation. If you've got the money and like the whole package, you pony up that money to show support for the project's future, and to help convince others to do the same.

Then you follow the campaign and maybe downgrade your pledge before the end if it doesn't look to be worth it, although too much of that can theoretically sabotage the whole campaign. But complaining about it this early is just a waste of typing.

I've never really paid attention as closely as I have on this one to any other KS, I guess the organizers of these things pretty much expect people to bail on the all-in late in the game if it doesn't turn into a good deal and then lower their pledge to get what they want at a better price per figure through other options.

What they expect is that the All-In pledges will get the funding amount "LASER BLAST" through the roof and unlocks everything like it did for the HACKS, which then makes the per-figure price a bargain for said All-In contributirs.

I've only done MTF and MTF Valkyries before on these kick starters. I did not do all-in on either of those but rather a mid level pledge and then added on as things unlocked. I seem to remember the add on process being crystal clear from the start on those projects. It was stated there was a set dollar amount for each add on item of your choice once things started unlocking and you simply upped your pledge by that amount every time you added an item. I'm not seeing that clarity here. I'm sure it will be possible, but I've seen a lot of people complaining about that, people who probably have a 1 figure pledge and who are not upping that pledge to get 3 or 4 more figures because they are uncertain what amount to pledge. I think they need to clarify that aspect quickly. There is probably a lot of money hanging out there waiting for clear instructions. If I wasn't all-in (and I may have to lower unless all stretch goals are reached) I wouldn't be currently upping my pledge to include other figures because the amounts have to be sought out in the FAQ instead of in the main description area and it contradicts itself on how much to add for shipping whether it's nothing or only $1.50. Yes, it's silly to hold back for such a small amount but in my head I'm thinking, what kind of chaos are they creating for themselves later if every pledge is off by a little and they have to correct every order by either getting more money from you or refunding some back? If I'm not an all-in contributor, I want clear and simple instructions to build the figure package I want in order for me to continue to pledge money. I want this thing to succeed, I wish people didn't have so many questions about the pledge amounts. And I'm hoping they do add a different mid level package that is more clear on getting 4-6 figures. I have heard rumors they are.

AV - the issue isn't the price in the beginning. It's the price at the end. Even guaranteeing 15 figures (whether 15 unique ones are unlocked or not), that's still $30 per figure. The individual figure price is $25, so I guess mileage will vary on how you value any accessory packs, etc...

But that doesn't compare at all to BFS, which wasn't capped, at the end of the day, on the stretch goals, and also had an unprecedented amount of funding driving it ahead.

I get your point. And on Boss Fight, I started conservative, and kept adding more towards selecting the eventual all-in, once the price became right. But there were so many achievable goals, that cut-off happened pretty early.

Here, unless I am way off base, the chance of getting more than 15 figures from the all-in is thin, if even remotely a thing. So it's not the starting ratio (which yeah, obviously that's a silly per figure number), it's the like $30 per figure end ratio compared to a base $25 per figure run that is the problem.

Similarly, if the factory, buck, etc.... have been hashed out from prior experiences of other recent KSs, that makes the price jump a little harder to swallow, since the All-In's appeal during BFS was the deal.

Having said all that, I'm still watching. Might just select one to make sure I have a shot at something. But the all-in to me, here, is a near meaningless option.

At 25-30 per figure, for an unproven company, I won't be pledging to this period. They have more unique tooling, so I can understand where the cost is coming from, but that's just a bridge too far for me, especially when I'm very wary of the people involved.

Update, they've added a pick 5 option and are going to add a Troop builder. Now it's a much more reasonable deal. I'm in for the initial 5 figures, plus enough to cover 5 troop builders. Glad to see they listened to reason.

I went all in but may have to re-evaluate as this continues, considering the same with EF, not sure if I want to do all in there either

I'm more bothered by the firefighter having a Halligan tool included. Invented in 1948, its a too modern accessory for these guys. Oh and everything is too expensive, but I'm a cheapskate. I do hope these succeed and I'm keeping an eye on them, hopefully smalljoes will be the first to get them in and I can pick and choose after they have an inventory.

Is the pick-five legit? There was an earlier pick FOUR (which again, higher price than the per figure cost), but the pick FIVE looks more tempting... except that the wording still says you get four figures. Maybe it's been fixed by now though.

Leaning towards just putting in for one or two to make sure I get something. But still trying to make sense of the rest

What I can't figure out is shipping (I have hopping covered) and addons. Not very clear and seems somewhat Inconsistent across comments and FAQs and updates.
Someplace I see 23. Then I see 25 and then I see combined shipping comments.
Very confused on how and what to pledge.

agreed. example. This is the supposed pick 5 troop builder language:

Quote:
Select this reward
Pledge $115 or more

Gather the Posse!

Troop builder, schmoop builder! With this reward you can build a small posse of FIVE different figures from wave 1 and any of the unlocked stretch goals! The only exception being the "All-IN!" exclusive Badlands Vigilante, as he is only for pledges at that level.

For your pledge at this level, you will receive four case fresh mint on sealed card wave 1 figures of your choice, shipped to your home. You will be able to select those four characters at the end of our successful campaign via Backerkit survey.

same blurb says you can pick 5 different figures from between Wave 1 or any unlocked figure, then seconds later says you receive 4 wave 1 figures, with no mention of a 5th or of anything later unlocked.

And I know I'm coming off as a dick, but this is where working the angles on the KS and having your best foot forward mean so much. KS is a confidence game. Give me the confidence that you know what you're doing, and I will be much more likely to buy and even (slightly) overpay.

I can't confidently back with this option yet, because I do not know if my $115 gets me 5 figures or not.

I also can't confidently back the $115 for 4 figures, because WHY DOESN'T ANY BODY SEE THAT THIS IS MORE THAN BUYING THE FIGURES INDIVIDUALLY??????

I don't understand. Or, is this what I'm missing, If I pledged $50, am I not allowed to select 2 figures? via my pledge and an add-on?

Ugh.

C'mon, man; that stuff is obviously just an editing brainfart. Let them know where their eyes are most consistently that they done fumble-fingered their copypasta and it'll no doubt get sorted to show it's a five-figure premium. Griping about confusion three websites to the left of where their attention is focused is ultimately just compounding your frustration.

They still have open slots for FOUR figures at $115. My money is on the FIVE slot having been intended at a higher price, if we are playing guess the brain fart.

I'm not griping to gripe. This isn't a preorder of an existing line. This is asking for money on the promise of being able to deliver something from scratch hereafter. If I'm gonna pay more than I have for any other toyline previously, I should be able to decipher cost without guesswork. And honestly, despite the fact that a group of figures should cost less than the price of an individual, all the other prices contradict that principle.

I'm here and I'm vocal because I want to back. I really really do. No time presently to reach out to them with my silly questions. But I will later if not already cleared up.

C'mon, man. You've got time to type a comment on Website A where it does no good but no time to type it on Website B where it would solve the situation instead?

C'MON, MAN.
