actually, the scuttlebutt is Wayans is playing Rip Corb... because he asked to. That was his favorite figure as a kid.

If it's true then that's actually pretty damn cool I mean what Joe fan wouldn't like the opportunity to play their favorite character in a movie.

yeah, some how that does make it a little easier to swallow if it's true, but still i would have preferred stalker. There is more to it than race though. to me it is also because i can't see him as any straight man. If anyone i could see him as airtight, wasn't he always a pranckster? I did enjoy daredevil's kingpin and that choice was hated by a lot of people.

I was thinking the other day, why didn't they just rename lonzo? this line of thought did end well. If lonzo got his name because of "stalking" like a jungle cat my first thoughts were, Tiger, or Panther. This almost immediately lead me mentally to black panther. Not to mention that's already trademarked (and so is black tiger I believe, as T'Challa once used that name too) but geeze it contains more sore spots than stalker. Wildcat? trademarked. Anyone else got any thoughts?

On a side note I've seen someone refer to the movie ripcord as "ripblast" (because hasbro likes to add blast to everything these days) and it's so hilarious i won't be able to call him anything else.

For me the 25th/ROC lines are an alternate universe from the Vintage figures. Given the difference in construction and size I just couldn't see mixing the two. In the 25th line I mostly just got Cobras and a few Joes. Now with ROC I'll mostly get Joes and a few Cobras.
I was going to try to keep all my Joes in the black with gray camo look but after seeing some of the new stuff shown at SDCC that plan may be out the window. Now my Joes may get divided up into teams (the gray camo guys being one team, the desert and woodland camo guys being different teams and whoever else might end up as support members for special missions) but to be on any Joe team they need the new logo. The few Joes I got out of the 25th line (mostly new versions of the Original 13) are now just standard military.
My Cobras are mainly Blueshirts and CGs with any "Vipers" being Blueshirts with the Viper vest and an individual codename and a few special characters like Destro, Baroness, Storm Shadow, Scarface and of course Cobra Commander.
But all the Joes and Cobras from the 25th and ROC lines exist in their own universe with it's own storyline (in my head at least) and have nothing to do with the vintage line.

ROC Ripcord is a new soldier who looks up to the first Ripcord, and asked if he could use his name when he retired, as a tribute of sorts.

ROC Breaker is now Sparks.
