I've done some
C.O.P.s-inspired character translations and have been working on
Resident Evil figures that will be a part of my main 'verse.
But the project I keep coming back to is both the most exciting and e most daunting.
A while back I introduced my idea for
a post WWII version of the Joe team, led Nick Fury and consisting of a mix of Marvel, Joe and original characters who are trying to snag back paranormal tech from Hydra.
The idea behind this team was that it was an experiment, loosely organized and run on a shoe-string budget. Nick would ultimately leave to head S.H.I.E.L.D. and enjoy a much larger budget as well as access to A-list talent. But his nephew, Joey Colton, would stick with the original team through several iterations over the years.
I've got a twenty-something Colton custom that will be fighting Russians and The Red Shadows in the 60s and, after he gets back from 'Nam, a bearded thirty-something Colton that will lead a team including
Doc Venture and Brock Samson in the 70s.
In the 80s a forty-something Colton will spend some time with The Adventure Team before he's asked to come out of retirement to head a black ops unit with a young Captain Clay Abernathy as his right hand. They'll spend most of their time squaring off with the Oktober Guard and A.I.M.
The 90's would see the Joe team we know coming into shape (as it appears in
my long-neglected dio-story continuity) and starting to fight a fledgling Cobra organization.
But the 2000s I'm thinking will become the no-holds-barred age in my continuity, bringing back the Marvel characters who are still around and incorporating some of the
DC customs I've been working on.
In the end, it could turn to a huge story/continuity mess. But the displays will be fun to set up.
