If I know where the clearance section is at the store I almost always go there first, then through the hot wheels area to see if there are any of the Duck Dynasty/True Outdoors/Motor Bike figures that could be used for parts, and then finally I look at the Joes/Corps/MU/DCU figures.

I wait to hear from other people about when they start finding stuff, then I give it a couple of days to trickle into my neck of the woods. I don't always score on the first try but it does help me from having to hit the same stores over and over again.

When I go to Walls-Mart, I always frown at the greeter.

I agree with most of what Cap said. Many deals have been had form an errant figure mixed in with junk, or people mislabeling/not knowing what toy they have.
