I'll hit my closing store eventually, as I have some reward dollars, but they really don't have anything I want. But on another forum, someone spoke with a TRU employee and was told the closing stores clearance won't be that great. All the high-end stuff will be sent to other stores and that some closing stores will get the junk from other stores to try and move.
This definitely sounds like something TRU would do.
I know a guy that used to work there; When an Express store would close after Christmas, their inventory would be trucked over to a more permanent store. So transferring merchandise is absolutely something that happens. Plus employee morale is probably pretty low (or lower than normal), so corporate isn't going to leave "the good stuff" in stores it could walk out of.
Also, I received an e-mail from TRU stating "up to 30% off" at closing stores. Since it seems they'll be loading the doomed stores with junk that will go to other stores if unsold, that could be the maximum price break....for now.
According to "The Joe Report": "The first of their stores to close will do so as early as next month (February), with the remainder having done so by the end of April, 2018."
