After killing Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander decides in an ultimate power play, that he will be a traitor to the Cobra cause. Cobra, led by the Baroness and funded by every mercenary, corrupt politician, and ruling despot Cobra ever had dealings with, launches a full on invasion of Washington DC to make sure he doesn't name names. The death toll is high on both sides and the commander along with just about every high profile member of both sides is dead. They errect a memorial. The End.

A huge friggin nuke! Several governments decide to become a one world government so the set up the GI joe team and the Cobras to have one big battle and then nuke them. They say it was another group of terrorists and then after a few years, this new coalition of shadow governments takes over and changes the way things are. Then, out of the ashes of a messed up world, the surviving members of both Cobra and Joe, join forces to topple the shadow government...which ends up being lead by......
