Miraculously found an X-23 today. Not a bad figure, but doesn't seem to have a lot of range of motion at the hips. I don't know if the joints on mine are just stuck or if it's the way the figure is designed, but I can't get her into a sitting or kicking pose.

No that's the issue I was having on the Steve Rogers figure too. It's the same hip setup. That plastic rod and pegged socket for the leg to seat into just isn't a good setup. It limits the range of motion and the leg pops off too easy. I was looking both of these figures over wondering if there was an easy fix.
23 and Steve both have hip issues, but not the same one or for the same reason. Steve is the same buck as the Lee Cyke, and you'll note you can see a couple millimeters of the t-bar exposed between the thigh and the groin. They just aren't molding the socket on the thigh deep enough to get a good hold, and since the socket is off-center from the natural point of rotation for a scissor-kick, the thigh just pops off easily if pushed too far. Drilling those sockets a couple millimeters deeper fixes both Steve and Cyke perfectly, while also improving their silhouettes.
23's thighs are sculpted to minimize the gap between thigh and pelvis to keep a feminine silhouette, I'm thinking. The cross-section of the thigh tops isn't a smooth oval but is indented and bulgey to show musculature, which combines with the way the hip socket is over-sculpted like the initial 25A figs were with their 'diapers' were to prevent as much range of motion as we Joe fans like. I shaved at the rim of her pelvis sockets and extended the top of the thigh socket to allow her to sit/squat and scissor kick, respectively. If you shave out the hip socket, be sure to angle your blade such that the cut surface is to the inside so the flesh-tone plastic its molded in doesn't require you to paint it. It's not an issue for me since I hate the way they cheap out and don't paint the interior of the hip sockets and do it for them, but some of y'all might not wanna go to that length just to let her be able to sit down.
