And now to dredge this up from the depths once more. We've got official pics of the new wave.
http://www.amiami.com/shop/ProductInfo/product_id/94162

Looks like a nice wave, but really, IXA could have been done as one figure with a swappable head or faceplate since that's the only difference between the two versions. I'm curious how they've got the sword held in place in Kiva's Garuru form.

I'm rather disappointed though. I have a suspicion that this may be the final wave. No more info has been given on anything following this wave and if you notice, there isn't even any mention of a secret figure in this wave. That's rather disappointing if that's the case because that means we won't be getting Kiva's Emperor Form or IXA Rising form in MRS form.

I'm pretty sure we'll get a secret figure in this wave too.
Maybe its just a better kept secret this time.

Let's hope its not the end since there's so much material left in the Kamen Rider universe.

Haven't we already gotten this guy?
Image

I could see them double-packing him due to demand that wasn't satisfied from the last wave, taking up the slot for the 7th fig, and we'll still get a 'secret' fig for the total of 8 we're used to.

I'm still liking what I'm seeing, altho I'm weirded out by whatever that thing is around that one guy's neck. WTF? And YES, Giant Fist Hammer! Where have you been all my life???? It's almost as cool as them Showdown fist missiles!

This is Rider 2.
THough very similar, the colors arent the same as the secret figure from the previous wave who was Rider 1.

That thing is actually a sword in his mouth.

The actors? That and if you look, 2 actually has some different parts from 1. Plus, if you repainted 2 in copper, you'd get a Shocker Rider.

Lets hope the secret figure isn't a Shocker rider, it will be a [LASER BLAST] to assemble 7 of them...

Okay, I know next to nothing about the concept, but I certainly know cool action figures, and these most definitely qualify! My only concern is that the elbow joint looks a little fragile, a la Microman. The rest seems to have enough "weight" on it to be all right.

I really shouldn't go on HLJ, though. Not at my income level... :-/

Next thing I knew I was checking out these figures called Winsomethingorother, and one of them had a tire in its chest, for cryin' out loud... Looked like advanced Power Rangers or something.

But these are VERY cool! Something else to dream for...

Winspecter. They're a Rescue Hero show featuring a human and two robots. Sadly, that figures Megahouse is putting out aren't 1/18. They're a little too big. Like 5" or so. Don't worry about the elbow joints, Trekker. They're plenty strong and tight due to the plastics being used. I'd say they're more like the knees on 25th Joes than Microman elbows.

Yeah, don't worry about any hypothetical fragility, Treks. These are MicroMan figs built right. You could throw these against the wall and they wouldn't break. It's partially the less brittle plastic they use and that the elbow piece is wider than the MM one, so don't let that be your excuse to not get what MR figs you can get, bro.

Winspecter. Thank you. Hmmm -- five inches. Scale doesn't bother me if it's a cool enough figure. Although the robot aspect does explain that tire in the one's chest. I was sort of concerned about that... 8-O :-D

Okay, I've got a couple of 25th Anniversary figures, including the BAT, and if these guys' elbow joints are more along those lines, that gives me some confidence.

Yeah, I love Microman, wish I had more of them, but SHEESH -- sneeze on 'em wrong and they fall apart. Not an experience I care to repeat. These sound a lot better structurally. Something else to save some $$$ for.

And not that I throw my action figures against the wall, either. :-D Actually, most of the time they pretty much just stand around. It's a good thing they're not subject to boredom -- at least I hope they're not. I think I'd feel rather badly about that.

Thank you both for the encouragement and information.

Well, like I said, sometimes I wonder -- if they were capable of feeling boredom, how would my action figures really feel?

Then again, on the rare occasions I'm gone for any length of time, I always come back to see tiny decks of cards scattered everywhere, so something's going on... :shifty:

On another note regarding these Motion Revive figures -- how TIGHT is their articulation on average? If I have found one thing very disappointing about the WWE 1:18 scale "Build 'n' Brawl" series (snagged CM Punk the other day), it's that a very high percentage of the figures I have purchased have some REALLY loose articulation points. It's something I would like to avoid with these if I make an effort towards them.

My *only* complaints about the various MR figs are the occasionally weird character designs and the sparse and unpainted accessorization. If the designs work for you, which I admit is hit-or-miss for me, then you're good.

The engineering and paintwork on them is *easily* amongst the best I've ever seen. The paintwork is absolutely flawless on every single fig I've gotten, which is all of them except for whatever the dupe fig was from set 1 as I got it off ebay.

The engineering is pretty much exactly like Microfigs except for the lack of a waist joint. Their shoulder joints can be limitied in range due to the size of the shoulder pads, however every single joint I've worked on every single fig I've gotten has worked with a nice solid feel. They're not too hard to work, and plenty of 'stick' once you've got them posed.

Seriously, man; if you're cool with the designs for the most part, you won't be unhappy with what you get. Easily the 'sleeper hit' toyline of the past couple of years.

Whew. Okay, more than impressed here. Making a budget note for these. Thanks for all the details!
