the new wave 1 comic packs for next year

That Juggernaut needs a removeable helmet.

Those packs are all pretty boring. Easy passes on them all. Out of the six figures, I'd like a Mandarin, but I'm not paying $18 for one figure I want and one that looks pretty much the same as another that I've had for over a year.

If Juggernaut has a helmet, I might get that pack. I've been thinking about getting an extra Colossus for a Death's Head custom, so I could use the figure there. I already have Mandarin and the Silver Centurion Iron Man, so that pack does nothing for me (though it may be good for people who can't find the green Mandarin figure). I wouldn't mind getting the updated Hulk if we aren't getting that figure on a single card as well, but otherwise it makes me angry that we're getting that crappy first appearance Wolverine again when I didn't ever want that figure in the first place.

Found the Thanos/Adam Warlock and Gambit/Mr. Sinister Comic Packs at TRU today. No sign of the Quicksilver/Wonder Man or Daredevil/Bullseye packs shown on the cardbacks. But then I've got no clue what's shipping with what anyway. Glad that the Infinity Gauntlet isn't molded to Adam's arm (the pics I'd seen of the set were unclear) and I dig that it can be put on anyone's arm, I just wish it fit a bit better. Sinister is nice, (though, as I feared, too large) and I like Gambit a lot, despite him having all the flaws of the Wolverine: Origins Gambit (since he uses the same mold) and a pin head to boot. Guess the more muted color scheme and new scarf are more appealing than I thought. Odd though, now that I compare them side by side, the heads don't seem that different in size. Might have to try improving the paint on the new head and see how it looks. Thanos is awesome. Some added gold paint detailing on the torso and a darker color scheme overall. The single carded release is probably closer to his comic appearances, but the comic pack one has an advantage in that he has a new head sculpt with that great Thanos sneer sculpted onto it. Bummer he doesn't include an Infinity Gauntleted hand of his own to match his new colors.

Yeah that wave came out previously at online & comic shops. It is odd that TRU has skipped a wave.
I hope Target & Walmart don't.

MU comic packs are just SOOO expensive. How come Hasbro decided it wasn't a profitable medium for Joe or Star Wars any more, but kept up with the Marvel ones but at double the price?

Double? They're 14-16 bucks usually. I don't remember the Star Wars or Joe ones being less than 10 ever, and usually more. Hell, you want some Princess Leia/Xizor packs there's a Wal-Mart hee that still has a few, only 12 bucks a pop.

Liftoff found me the all-metal Absorbing Man variant and gave it to me yday. I still hate them Bluto legs that fig comes with (and single Luke Cage, too!), but the paint on the rest of the fig is pretty dang nice. The silverblack wash especially looks good on the pants and the wrecking ball.

Apparently they're dropping the stands as of the Psylocke/Storm/Iron Fist etc wave, which I think is the next one. I know it's a small thing, but MU teeters back and forth on the line of quality so much that I hate to see any value add items dropped. Guess they've replaced them with "Comic Shots" which is just a picture of the character from a comic printed on some cardstock. Whee. More crap to throw away. At least the SHIELD and HAMMER files had some cool story bits.

Those files were so much better & very much like Joe file cards. I hated seeing those go.
