They are still $9.99 in Central Florida. I even had the gal check the prices and check to see if the deal had to yet to be printed and restickered, and nope, they are still going for $10. Wanted to get some Dr. Who for Doc since he lives in a Walgreens dry zone in PA, and I am literally surrounded by them up US19 and down US19, and all points surrounding.

You guys are lucky to get them both on sale, and with some variance. Our TRU only had two Zygons and one Screaming Angel, which I wanted to turn into one of my Medusae victims (when you remove the wings she makes a great turned statue), but TRU sells them for $15. What a mark-up.

Weird. The two TRUs that I frequent marked them down to $9.99! Maybe we are just lucky.

Cap, http://www.whona.com has Weeping angels for $10. They also have Projected Weeping Angels (clear variants) for $8 if you don't mind painting the stone effect yourself.

I am still scouring my local Walgreens looking for more Daleks but I only have maybe 3 more stores in driving distance so I may not be able to grow my armies much more on the cheap :(

Which Daleks do you need?

My Walgreens has them all on sale for 6.99. They had a classic and an asylum last time I was there.

Tonight, while reorganizing my Classic Daleks to make room for the 3 "Genesis Of The Daleks" Classic Daleks I picked up last week I noticed a pair of variants: 2 of the 8 I have do not have the raised oval detail between their arms. The gold Supreme Dalek I have also has the oval.

I have not heard of anyone else mentioning this variant. The only oval/no oval variant I see any mention of is on the red Alpha Dalek from the "Children Of The Revolution" Dalek 2pk.

I may be the first person to document this variant :)

Good catch on the oval, Specs. I gotta check mine out when I get to my desk tomorrow. Are both versions canon, or did they do a running change to get more accurate?

Without having seen "Genesis Of The Daleks" in a few years I cannot say for certain if both versions appeared in the episode. I know that the BBC would often repaint Daleks from earlier serials for whichever story they were currently filming so there is a good chance that both versions were used in that serial. The BBC almost never had more than 4 working Daleks at any given time, with 2-4 additional "stunt" (stationary, non functional) Daleks for background scenery so there were often differently detailed Daleks in the same episodes.

Even is non-canon, I still like the differences just for diversity in my display :)

I just put in my Genesis of the Daleks DVD. The three main Daleks that Davros interacts with all have the oval, but it's very subtle. It doesn't look as raised as the detail on the toy. The Dalek that is shown being blown up (when it runs over the wires next to the hatchery) does not have the oval.

Went into my local TRU this morning and they had all three two-packs. I was going to buy the Invasion pack until I noticed something off: no radar dish on the back. Then I had another look. They had vertical solar panels like the movie Daleks, but the base was the wrong shape. The television Invasion Daleks had horizontal bands around the middle. Had an even closer look. They are just Nu-Series Daleks (probably Asylum) repainted in the Invasion colours.

"The design of these bronze Daleks is influenced by the livery of the Black Dalek Supreme and drone Daleks from the 60’s TV serial of the same name" (from the packaging, They are NOT Classic Series or even Movie Daleks. The other two sets are absolutely spot-on.

I ended up buying just the 'Children of the Revolution set to get a Red and Gold Dalek.

Better pictures of the so-called Invasion Daleks here:

Needless to say I will not be buying set 3

At least you have the choice.
We aren't getting all of the cool ass stuff you guys are. Don't get me wrong, I love what we have gotten, and am glad to be able to find it, but it also sucks that we can't have access to everything they are putting out.

Right now I'm seriously considering paying like $50 to get a 10th Doctor w/glasses and an 11th Doctor w/fez from overseas, because they aren't making them available here. :-/

I'll take 'em!

And I'd wait another month for Toy Fair before throwing $50 across the Pond. These uneven WG clearances may just be stock-clearing for the next wave.

Kambei, the New Series Daleks in the Invasion colors 2pk are from a recent video project where a fan used CGI and replaced all of the Daleks in "The Dalek Invasion Of Earth" with New Series Daleks.

This is actually my most wanted of the 2pks as I think New Series Daleks in Classic colors are a cool addition to the line. I loved the Classic Series Daleks in all of their colors and the New Series are a bit lacking in that department.

I tell you, these offerings make me ecstatic and sad simultaneously.

It wasn't too many years ago, that I had an impressive Dapol collection of Daleks, and had some great ones that were hard to come by like the Transmat Dalek that was clear with the green tentacled Dalek inside, the limited edition Dalek workers pack where it had the four types of workers (including the clock arm Dalek), and many, many others. Then we hit on a very hard medical time and they all had to be sold to offset the costs of medical and dental procedures that aren't covered and few keep a "rainy day" savings for. We may never see those in this scale, but I am gald for what few types of these new TV series ones I have gotten here and there.

Wow, did you guys see the pics from ToyFair? Lots of good looking Doctor Who figs coming. It's funny, I'd considered making a space-suit custom using the Hazard Viper. No need now. :)
