The peg board display is finally up:

http://djtoys.muchtobuy.com/figure_backgrounds.html

It's a regular display background with keyhole slots to hang on the wall. It comes with 10 pegs to nail in however you wish to hold the guns as you want. You can also buy extra pegs as well. For JC members I'll say you can use any small nail really to lay the weapons out with. I just found this other peg that works perfect and am offering it witht he peg background.

The Flight Pod display should follow this next weekend. I got sick last week and had not been doing much with the projects while that was going on. I'm back up and running again though.

Also I haven't been able to get my material that's been on backorder still, but I am moving forward with some backup material I have. It's just as good but is a thicker material. I figure I can't keep waiting on the company to ship me the other stuff. I don't need more delays when I can sort or work around it regarding the Cobra Base.

Still working on the gliders and probably won't have anything fully up for around 2 months. I don't want to rush it and jump at just anything. I talked with Kirk Bozigian about the original gliders and have some ideas on material.

Some questions on the weapon peg board.

1) What are the dimensions on the display in the pictures?

2) How thick is the material for the peg wall?

3) How easy is it to nail in the peg nails? How easy to remove them? Do the holes become loose with removal/repegging?

4) Is it possible to just get some peg board without the full backdrop? I'd like some pieces to use and incorporate into other dios.

5) Is it possible to get different color peg board? Gray?

6) Have you considered slat board as an alternative look to the peg board using the same pegs?

It's a display backdrop. The plastic is .25" thick. The display is 8" tall and 12" wide with the floor at 4" out and 12" wide. The idea of the pegs being loose once you make the hole and relocate isn't any more an issue than if you pulled a thumbtack out and relocated. I guess it would also depend on how the person warped the hole themselves.

As for colors, it could be made any color since it's a backdrop. I had been asked if themed version might happen, and I guess that's an option eventually. If these are popular enough, I'll probably look into the options.

The way I put the one together that I set up for display was to use needle nose pliers to hold the peg and a small hammer to tap it into place. It worked fine but I'll admit it was tedious work like applying a bunch of stickers to a vehicle. but that could just be me being impatient.

I went with the plastic with the display backdrop for the ability to make it versatile. The pegs can be nailed anywhere to hold a gun on the backdrop that way without being forced into any preset idea. Plus like I was saying, regular small nails can be used as well.

I went ahead and added the extra info on the website so maybe it'll help with any questions one might have when seeing it on the site.

Hey jman, just realized you have an injection molding machine, does that mean that you could produce batches of arah figures or parts? It would be awesome if you could make popular figures that haven't been reproduced(night viper, viper. eels hint hint)

I don't have an actual injection molding machine. I've got a way to sort of do injection molding though through a different process. I guess technically I could do full figures, but it would be more difficult for me than some of the other guys out there. I've pretty much just tried to stay away from that market. Maybe one day down the road I'll buy some new equipment for that type of stuff.

To do the glider's clip I'll be using my idea and it'll work well enough. I'll have to take "baby step" though with the process. Maybe I can perfect it well enough to do more than I have in mind. For now though it'll just be small parts.

DarkJedi brought these up from YoJoe:

http://www.yojoe.com/archive/games/advb ... ives.shtml

They're neat little backgrounds. I could see some background displays using these. I figured I'd post some clean version here for people to use though as they want. I took the wording off and enlarged them. I don't know if I will add them in as backgrounds to select on the website, but they'll be here to use. I can always do a backdrop with them by request anyway.

The coloring of these reminds me of the recent backdrops from some of the Cobra Island sets and the vehicles. I thought someone like Dream, who does the custom card work, might be interested in them or anyone else that is looking for backgrounds to pose their figures on.

It's options, folks.

Thanx to J-Man for cleaning them up and posting.

Can anyone use this for something? it is a piece of art from inside a 12" figure, I forget what one (maybe short fuze), but it combines several eras of Cobra vehicles. It would make great computer screens in a base somewhere.

A project I have been trying to get done through a couple different guys (but never seems to get off the ground) is an assortment of new computer screen decals. With all the new art out there from the 25th packages, it would be easy to get a nice page of different Terror Drome sized screens, or some new pieces for the Joe HQ computer console, as well as assorted sizes for custom screens and lap top screens. The closest I got was a couple stickers using the early 25th backdrops that could be cut to size. I think it is an idea that would really work for customizers, but I don't have the connections any more.

I like this idea. I've picked up a PTE blackboard (seen here http://www.joearmory.com/pteconferenceblackboard.aspx), but I couldn't seem to find a good graphic to go on it.

I guess if someone wants to do the leg work and get me the sizes (width and height) of all the parts wanted, I'll build up some ideas. I'll both offer it as a printed page for those that want the higher quality print and also have the page that can be downloaded and printed for those that are fine enough with just and ink jet printed version. I have tons of images I've saved up over the years along with all comics in digital form. There's bound to be something to use out of all that.

This is a great idea. There are so many great images from comic books that would work for this.

Maybe a thread where people could post the comic name, issue, and page number for reference, then it would just be a matter of scanning in those items for J_Man...
