This is a great idea. If I had my way, it would have all new characters, with an all new enemy, perhaps including some cameos or brief mentions of established characters later on (kind of how Beast Wars treated G1). I'd throw in some James Bond elements, plenty of sci-fi & supernatural elements, and give the whole thing a Venture Bros kind of feel.

As much as I like traditional military Joes, I'd love to see a well-done, mass-retail Adventure Team to breathe some new life into the brand. Problem is, everytime Hasbro has deviated from the usual 3.75" Joe formula, it has crashed and burned bigtime. Even the Indiana Jones line tanked. So I don't see this happening.

Problem with the IJ line was again too many Mutt and Indy figures and not enough of the other characters.
That and the fact that the targeted audience didn't really care about the line.

Joined with a cartoon and a strong media presence, an Adventure Team line could do well. It would work with the current fan base and it might open the door for kids whose parents weren't warm to their kids playing with military toys. "Look mom, they're not soldiers, they're looking for treasures and I'm learning stuff about history too".

As long as the media caught on, it could work. Unfortunately these days that means a big budget, high profile movie. Hasbro's Joe toons don't tend to do too well on their own merits.

I'm thinking the name "gi joe" is so ingrained in American culture as a military toy, a whole new name would be needed for the series. As long as the figures had the same high quality as POC/movie figs, I'd be fine with it.

GIJoe pretty much needs it's Beast Wars. I think going with the Adventure Team format or something similiar would probably work out well and they can downplay the GIJoe logo like they did the TF logo for Beast Wars.

8-O I love this idea, have you thought of adding Mike Powers to the line idea.
