It's my speculation that thats radio equipment for the antana to plug into that would be removable from the backpack like Bombstrikes gear. Again thats just my speculation.

Veeeery interesting...

Since '04 the Comic Packs have been largely repaints, so the use of existing parts doesn't surprise me, though there are some parts I would have preferred to have seen reused.

Falcon using those freaking Duke arms bugs me the most, especially when we see the Viper and Tiger Force Flint using much, MUCH better arms on shelves before these get released. That's really a shame. Falcon is a figure I was so looking forward to, and those arms kind of kill it. I love the other new parts, the head looks great from what we can see of it, and the new webgear will make a good difference. I think I'll be buying an extra Tiger Force Flint and working on my green camouflage paint matching!

Iron Grenadier is a head scratcher. I love the Battle Armor COBRA Commander figure...it poses great, the sculpting is great, everything works well, but I'm just not sure how well it fits with the IG. Hopefully we'll get a better idea once we see some painted samples. It has the potential to be cool (especially with that amazing looking head sculpt and very cool chest strap) but I'm just not quite sold yet.

Interesting stuff, for sure, hopefully we can see some more official and final samples soon.

Justin

Don't forget, in one of the Q&A's they mentioned how they can't fix the duke arms b/c they keep getting used. And then this?!?! letdown.

I agree about the IG, but i kinda had more or less hoped for using CG lower legs or original ones. they'd have done better to make a new IG and release it single pack then revisit the comic pack version.

Well, I'm not talking about fixing them in this case, I'm talking about using something else entirely. It's time to retire those arms. Yeesh, take a break from releasing rolled up sleeves for a few waves or something, they just have to get rid of 'em.

Someone made a intereseting observation about the pic's. They have a encrypted jpeg date of 2.1.08. So, when these were taken, it's true what Hasbro said, the arms were in use at the time this figure was made.

I was so looking forward to Falcon, but the Duke arms and crotch are killing me. I really hope these are protos and not pre-productions. Because I was really hoping to get multiples.
The only thing that can save him is a kick-ass Tiger-stripe deco. If they do the toon cammo he's gonna look weak.
His radio and other gear look great, the shotgun can be fixed thanks to MJ.

But no one is talking about fixing them, we're talking about using different arms altogether. Like the ones Flint/Viper are using... no fixing required.

Justin

This person was talking about fixing, cuz of what Hasbro said,

"Don't forget, in one of the Q&A's they mentioned how they can't fix the duke arms b/c they keep getting used. And then this?!?! letdown."

This is what I was responding to.

Clutch and Falcon both need the new Viper-Flint upper arms.

the Duke arms are crap and every new reuse of the mold is just making me hate the rolled up sleeves more and more. it was fine for Duke and Doc based on the legacy and for the wave 1 Flint so early in the line with limited molds but now, using those "LASER BLAST" arms for Falcon is inexcusable.

I know we're probably well into the figure's lead time, but is there anyway we can petition Hasbro to fix Falcon's articulation issues before he gets released?
