I never understood the point of the mid-torso joint, anyway, and I think on a lot of figures it doesn't look very good, which may be one of the reasons (I'm just guessing here) that they came up with things like harnesses and vests to try to conceal it a bit.

I honestly think the only figures that can get away with this bit of articulation decently are armored figures, like Clone Troopers and Stormtroopers, and super-heroes in tights, where the joint can be worked into either the design of the armor, or the musculature.

But, in fairness, I do think the harnesses and the vests do a decent job of concealing it, although it does affect that particular area of articulation a fair bit at times.

Aren't people expecting regular Zombie Vipers as the three pack?

Predictions:

The attendee freebie will be Zombie Finback in killer whale colors. It will have no articulation and like the original, be a squirt toy.

Regular zombie Finback will be available with Deep Six/Barbecue 2-pack.

They'll later dezombify the Finback mold and put in on a vintage style card as "Mutated Iceberg" mystery bonus figure for the 3rd subscription series.

Huh. It's not that I hate the figure, but it's just so anticlimactic. I don't really know what I'd do with it, although I do kind of like the ugly color scheme for him and I love the helmet in those colors. But overall, as other people have said, the set is a bunch of OK figures with a couple of crap ones mixed in. I'm gone from "no thanks" to "absolutely" and back again several times since these reveals started six months ago or whatever, and now I'm kind of starting to wonder if I shouldn't just cherry-pick the ones I want. Either way is expensive, though, so it's not like I'd be saving that much. Last year's set looks like a walk-off grand slam next to this one.

Last year, honestly, the figures that impressed me the most in the set were Letal, Crimson Asp, and the Frag-Vipers. Outside of the set, it was definitely Chuckles and Freestyle. I'm liking what I see overall in this set, and it doesn't bother me that the figures are more colorful. While I do think the original line got a bit carried away with that sort of thing, I didn't object to it as much as some, and a bit of expansion of the color palette in the modern line is, as far as I'm concerned, welcome.

Nope, I'm pretty sure it will be Steel Brigade zombies, either as a 2-pack or a 3-pack. I think it may be a 2-pack, as I'm more expecting the 3-pack to be the Estrela Eco-Warriors.

Wow. Repulsor seems designed to do just that. To prospective buyers of this set.

Not good.

I'm disappointed. I think I'll get a sandwich instead.

Repuslor should have been a Cesspool type character.

I'm talking some mad scientist type that you'd see in Bionic 6 or any of the classic 80s cartoons.

This...is a Sludge Viper.

I received my convention stuff from my mule (Thanks Justin!) and I'm really impressed with this year's set now that I have it in hand. I've talked with a buddy before about what would absolutely turn me off of a convention set and I've said "Eco-Force" every time without hesitation. Eco-Force just never appealed to me, as a kid or an adult. But these figures in hand are really well done. I can't say I'm a fan of Eco-Force but the execution is really well done.

I do have one complaint and that is with the packaging. It took them a couple years but they finally upsized the foam tray holes to fit the modern figures (at least it appears that way to me). But they still need to figure out a better way to package all the accessories in the box. They all come individually bagged in the bottom of the box and with the bulky spring-loaded launchers and larger backpacks of the modern figures that loose packing technique just makes the foam figure tray bubble up and the box lid won't sit flush.

My recommendation to the Club would be to spring for a foam frame tray to be inserted in the bottom of the box, just big enough to hold up the figure foam tray above it and not have the accessories bulge out the package. Yeah it would cost a bit more but for the long term storage of these sets it would be worth it in my opinion.
